This nosed so nice! Tar, graphite, raspberries... Still very fresh on the palate - red-fruited with tannins fully melted away, plus notes of coffee, earth. This could probably still go for another 5-10 years, but it's so delicious now that there's no real bonus for holding back...
Definitely tasted like it had some age. Not Bordeaux but I found it slightly new-world in style. If not then a Spanish blend. Quite surprise that it was a Tignanello though on retrospect I guess I shouldn't be since I barely tasted much of this winery. Peaking now and drinking optimally.
Burnt orange edges and light garnet body. The nose had some coork, which blew off after about 10 minutes. This had wonderful lively fruits of bing cherries, raspberry, and a bit of red currant. There were some fantastic secondaries of tar, coffee and mushroom. A fantastic acid balance...still! A great finish which brought forward the cherries once again. Elegance and class.
This was the final from 2 six-packs given to me from a good friend. Brought to my favorite Italian restaurant over luch with friends.
