2013 Oregon Chardonnay Symposium (Red Ridge Farms in the Dundee Hills of Oregon): The nose brought to mind a golden apple smashed on a concrete sidewalk, and scents of popcorn added some additional complexity. I’d like to note that in this case, popcorn is not a euphemism for butter but a reference to the actual popped kernels. Full acidity shows quickly on the palate, with flavors of clean red apples. The apple flavors become more golden on the mid palate, and some aged character reveals itself. Pie crust flavors and more apples linger on the finish. This is a nice example of Oregon Chardonnay with some age.

Deeply perfumed, lithe and maturing pristinely. Warm stones, bright lemon curd, almond oil, baking spice, brûlée of hazelnuts. Balanced, quite long and full, bight acids and textured like liquid velvet.

Reticent and quiet, yet rich, pure, and elegant. Powdery, seamless and complete. Bright, chalky and lithe, this Chardonnay hits high notes. Bright acid, great integration and complexity of aromatics and flavors. Lemon verbena, mineral, pink lady, yellow melon, hay, gunflint, baking spice, lemon curd. Honeyed and dense, taut and persistent.
