Well made young and surprisingly dark pinot from Carneros, enjoyed earlier tonight with Kim with plank grilled steelhead trout and sausages and stood up well especially to the fish. Balanced, still quite acidic, deep purple, fruit forward and medium bodied. Not formally decanted but wine opened about two hours and the first pour was in the glass for about 30 minutes prior to consumption. Muted nose with heavy dark fruit and black pepper, primary flavors included dark berries, strawberry, earth and all-spice. Not an unreasonable QPR at this price point and has years of cellaring left.
