Clear and bright, deep ruby colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing pronounced intensity aromas of strawberry, cassis, blackcurrant, blackberry, vanilla, cedar and liquorice. The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium+ acidity, high fine grained tannins, medium+ alcohol, medium+ body and medium+ intensity flavours of blackberry, blackcurrant, cassis, vanilla, liquorice and cedar. Medium finish.
It is a very good quality wine with a perfect balance between all structural components, a decent complexity provided by a well defined fruit palette of aromas and oak ageing and a very good fruit concentration, but the finish could be longer. The wine is too young, it will develop more complexity in the next 10+ years.
Good nose, aromatic and intense. Notes of oyster shell, red cherry with toasty oak finish. More red fruits. Dry mid-palate. Label indicated 13.5% alcohol with slight warmth at finish. Pretty good wine but just not as good as Les Forts de Latour 09', but then again this is a lot cheaper. Approachable now. Buy more? Not at $1000 Pounds a case. 91-94 pts.

(Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux Margaux) The second wine of Margaux, accounting for 41% of the harvest. A glossy hue, not too dark, dark cherry, blue-pink rim. Fine purity of fruit here, crystalline red plum, just a little black cherry coming in, sweet-edged but not extravagantly so. Beautifully clear, fruit essence, compact with a savoury shell. Moderate weight on entry, then starting to broaden out, showing beautifully balanced fruit and texture on the palate. Finely ripened tannins, softly caressing the palate. Fine, crystalline again, fresh. Tannins are very nicely covered by the gentle, supple fruit. Fairly good length too. A stonking Pavillon Rouge.
