Made from the white wine in the area as opposed to typical palomino amontillado. This wine was lovely, more saline and green olive than pure butterscotch. A really nice concentrated long sherry by Hidalgo.

Says SV on the label too Old enough to to be a VORS At least 30 years old Amazing nose! Butterscotch, hazelnuts, dried orange Rancio notes, touch of furniture polish, salty and a bit austere Cuts like a knife! Very very impressive but also quite hard work

Spain: Day 5 - the Sherry extravaganza at Casa Barquin (Granada): this is a love-it or hate-it style... weird nose, very salty, light but not showing much on the palatte...alc sticks out... oh well..i agree with doug - it was a bit like scotch... but i dont like scotch :)

Nose of sweet almonds, walnuts, caramel, and a salty seashore tang.
On the palate this really exploded with bone dry salty, peaty pungency, as well as cedar and nuts. I was surprised to find this quite close in flavor to a good Islay scotch whiskey. Quite a long finish.

Matter of Taste: Wine Advocate Tasting (Miami, FL): Chocolate, spices, oak. Very dry, non-descript taste. Doris loved this wine. White sherry style.
