  • From Art's cellar. Ninety-minute decant. Cork was perfect! Wine was clear. Dark red bowl, lightening to amber and then orange on the rim with a large clear halo. Nose seemed younger than the wine's color suggested: fig and blue fruits with herbaceous notes of thyme and bamboo. Mouth was well balanced, fig with some green bell pepper and cedar in the long finish. As an aside, I had consumed several bottles of this wine in the mid-1980's and the wine seemed too vegetal and chalky to me. (No doubt it was too young then.) Wine has smoothed out nicely with age to me, but some may still think it is a little green (as my friend did). Lots of life left in this non-reserve bottling!

  • Good wine. Fair amount of fruit for the age. Well balanced and quite drinkable.
