Clean and clear. Unsophisticated but attractive fruit in the nose. Lemon, melon, cream. Fine flavor, perfect balance. One of the better wines I've had from this grape. Certainly better than most. 5-10-16-7: 88/100.

A Pinot Grigio worth writing about. Bright and clean with surprisingly nice legs. Mostly grapefruit in the nose and mouth, but what distinguishes this wine is it's impeccable balance between lush ripe fruit and bracing acidity. Good body and a long finish. Makes it a great food wine. 5-11-17-7: 90/100.

Light gold. Steely nose. (this is a bit cold as I taste it). Nice light melon aromas, cantaloupe. White peach. Fine palate with a fair bit of depth. More quality than usual from this normally relatively straightforward grape. Good enough to drink on it's own, maybe as an aperitif. 5-11-15-6: 87/100

Low alcohol, high acid with a bit of phenolic bitterness. Intentionally made as a food wine--it's magic with strawberries where the fruit's natural acidity synergizes nicely with the wine. Pear and citrus aromas on the nose. Concentrated with the slightest sensation of fuzzy tannin. Bottom line, a bit austere on its own, but rewards the right pairing.

Clos Pepe, Cold Heaven and Longoria (Santa Ynez Valley): See previous note. Varietally on-target, and priced fairly. One for sipping on a hot day or with the right food pairing.
