The glass has a deep red color, almost purple, but it is clear. The aromas are more wild than a Saint-Emilion. Small red fruits, coffee, tobacco and leather. Silky tannins in a full and concentrated body. A long, persistent and balanced finish that expresses the philosophy of Derenoncourt’s wine.

The Bdx right bank always offers that extra dose of smoothness and early(ier) maturation. Hence it had an easy win against our other wine of the evening, a Ch. La Lagune 2009 (Haut Médoc). Domaine de l'A boasts lush mature red fruit, charming leather, tobacco, cocoa, vanilla, figs and sweet liquorice. Perfectly structured and with a long finish this bottle can be enjoyed now and over another decade.

This bottle started nice with fresh fruit, elegant vanilla, a firm midtaste and noticeable tannins, the wine was however less convincing than the previous bottles. A day in the fridge did the wine no good: the tannins became dry and the fruit was less precise. At day three the wine became a bit better. This was a nice wine, but it missed the qualities I have admired before. I think I have some bottles to taste this wine again.

served 20 minutes after decanting. Very fragrant nose, with cedar and woodsy notes. Very nice and open with some nice, ripe fruit on the palate. Drinking very well right now.

Drinking really fine right now. I have drunk it two times before in the last 3 years and it always delivers. I have three left. If you get your hands on it for at reasonable price, buy all of them.
Dark fruit (plum), oaky, powerful with a long finish. For a sub $40 Bordeaux, this one is really good. Looking forward to my next bottles.
