A big, dark, ripe wine. Made in what I like to refer to as "Napa Style" especially when drinking Napa Zinfandel. More than just an expression of in your face fruit forward exuberance, this style has structure, a lot like a Bordeaux blend. You get plenty of rich dark fruit, but it does not seem to be over extracted. These wines are made to age a little, I'm sure there is little of no filtering. Balance is the word, lots of black raspberry, blueberry and dark cherry fruit, mingling with age worthy tannins and acid. Probably a little too much oak. Heavy in the mouth for a Petite Sirah. Fruity finish with a small taste of ground.
