Primary color. A little whiff of lavender on the nose. This offers tart black currant with loamy accents. Powdery tannins. The finish is remarkably dry and it felt like my tongue was completely enveloped and shrinking. It was the weirdest sensation I can recall with wine. I've bought several vintages of Nenin and this is the youngest I've tried. Always solid, but it never seems to have that Pomerol charm. This one needs another 3-5 years, but I'm not sure how it plumps up. The tannins may resolve and it could soften a bit, but the fruit will be fading a bit. It will be interesting to see how this develops. 89

Deep ruby color. Fragrant muscular nose with ripe blackberries, vanilla and soft oak. Dry, bright acidity, chewy tannins, palate follows through and holds. Medium full body. Very good balance (unlike the Pagodes 10). Medium long finish.

This is a very simple and basic wine. I was hoping for more. Not much of tasting notes. Dark deep red, pencil shavings. For some reason, it doesn’t taste like a BDX.
