The wine has medium intensity, fruit flavors have almost completely changed into aging aromas. Leather, Umami like Chinese spice and and a bit of a „amarone taste“, which might be the remnants of an earlier cherry flavor. Tannins are soft. Alcohol is well integrated. Nothing disturbs, nothing wows. In the glass, the wine does not change, I can’t detect complexity. To me no intellectual challenge, nothing to think about, but nice. I think further aging will not lead to any improvement. Nice experience, but for the price (130€) will not purchase more.

Very thankful for all the recent notes. This bottle was in a great place. Age has started to impart its finesse and this wine still has enough structure to leave you thinking there is more to come… only wish I had a few more of the 2009. Drink now or wait, bottle was better than I expected.

Excellent wine, rich, a bit of oak, sort of 1/2 new world style but still very Bordeaux, ripe year; rich and deep cab notes, complete opposite of the Duhart 2015 which was surprisingly a bit thin, tannic, esp for '15! 日本人パーテー

(Château Giscours) Very dark red violet color; herbaceous, tart currant nose; tasty, tart currant, herbaceous, olive palate; for early drinking; medium-plus finish 91+ points (55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc)
(Château Giscours) Barrel sample tasted in London on July 5, 2010. Less Cabernet than in 2008 (55%, with 40% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc). Although the wine is reductive and primary at the moment, the structure is still apparent: this is a big wine, and a considerable step up from the 2008 in terms of concentration. Perhaps it reflects the new era at Giscours more than the terroir. Drink from 2020 to 2035 and beyond. Winery Spotlight: Château Giscours

2 hour decant. seemed simple vs. complex. Tannins fully integrated, but nothing special on the palate. Try again in 18 months.

Similar to my past reviews. 45 min decant and drinking well. Plenty of fruit. More air would be even better but it didn’t last long.
