Ripe blueberries, cranberry, mocha, pencil shavings. Initially quite fruity and primary, almost jubey. Bloomed into a more sophisticated, mature wine over a couple of hours, revealing more earthy, smoky notes. Good stuff here from Woodlands. Plenty of years left, if that’s what you want to do. (94 Excellent wine)

Served blind. herbaceous, pyrazine, blackcurrant, slight sweet spice. Medium plus intensity acidity, blackcurrant, textured tannins, slight herbaceous notes. Coonawarra Cabernet, about 15 years old but under screwcap.

The good news is that the acidity has definitely mellowed. There is fair amount of fruit power here, backed by firm tannins through the length of the wine. This is a nicely balanced wine, though the overall impression is of youth. It really feels like this has a decade at least in front of it.

Wow, lovely wine. Elegance personified. Gorgeous nose - cassis, pencil shavings, gravel, olives, bit of capsicum & eucalypt. Black fruits, fine tannins, great length. Certainly in the zone now but I think another 4-5 years will be beneficial.

Sublime
Rich dark cassis finish hints of tobacco and eucalyptus - fully integrated tannins an absolute pleasure .
