A bit thick and chewy, over ripe plums, violets, and used wood...
From a Magnum: These wines were more elegant and dry a year ago...threw off some raisiny notes in the first 3 pours, but definitely improved through the last glasses after the 2 hour decant...so decant..
On first opening strong alcohol on the nose with some leather and subtle fruit notes. Tasted of leather and tobacco with some tart fruit on the finish. After 6 hour decant aromas of strawberry, cherry, and white pepper. Tastes of strawberry fruit leather, dark cherry, and graphite. The alcohol had subsided, but the tannins were now a bit over powering and the mid palate was a bit thin. By day two, the wine has become very balanced with soft tannins but tastes flat.
