Held onto this one as a test of how well a barrel-aged Chard might hold up with time, when our CA version aren't known for being able to do this so well. It was rich and mellow with bottle age, yet did still have some acidity to it which surprised me. It was served with a Tunisian style poached chicken with chickpeas, herbs, and lemon- it turned out to be a good pairing. I wouldn't do this test too often for fear of losing good bottles of wine, but was happy I did it in this case.

there is definitely something off-setting about this stuff...refried beans? Strange, but not sure I can come up with a better descriptor, also thought the glass might have some residual soap suds

Opened not decanted. Citrus nose and a smell of refried beans! (I think that I should wash my glass with soap instead of hot water for my everyday drinking glass). Not too acidic, fresh tasting. with lemony finish.

Good but uninspired. Fruity, nice acidity, but not a lot of depth of flavor.
