Notes on day 3. Still has an excellent nose with an explosion of fruit at this point in its evolution. Really nice black currant, black cherry, toasty oak notes with a spicy finish.

Strawberries and red fruit, juicy, a touch on the lighter side, medium plus finish. This opened up some as the night passed, so a decant is still a good idea. Some complexity, delicate and very nice. Full-flavored, and a little oak for roundness. 89-90 pts.

Tasted blind. Nose: amplified and expressive enough that you want to sniff all day. Black fruit but with espresso and a hint of toasted oak and sweet tobacco. Palate: muted fruit including black currant with more toasty oak, tar and leather. 40s finish that evolves into interesting anise and spice tones. The evolution of the finish along with the nose puts this over the top. 93+
