  • Not quite as good as I remember it but it is still a good wine.

  • Just a marvelous pinot gris. Pours like a golden California chardonnay, but drinks like a full-bodied pinot gris. Yum again and again.

  • This rich Pinot Gris comes in at 15.1% abv. It is a medium golden color, with slow and viscous legs. Half the bottle was enjoyed last nite, the other half was corked and put in the fridge, and this TN is from the second nite.
On the nose, tree sap/resin, honey, apricot, and slightly oxidized pear notes are complimented by a zest or spiciness in the upper register. On the palate, this is a lovely, med(+) bodied wine, dry (but has a perceived sweetness to it, probably from the high alcohol), light tannins, and med acidity, with fruit notes of pear and sweet peach, followed by an almost citrus-like zest/spice, leading into the med(+), spicy finish. A very nice food wine, goes well with even heartier fare due to it's lush mouthfeel and spiciness. Should drink well another year or so, drink up.

  • Mid colour - oily nose - quite ful bodied, too alcoholic (15.1%) - well made wine but not true to grape - on steroids

  • A moderate yellow-green hue is noticeable on this 15.1% abv (wow!) Pinot Gris. A tangy lemon, and sweet orange citrus aroma is upfront on this wine, followed by a chalkiness that becomes more apparent as the wine warms up a bit. These citrus notes are nicely and cleanly echoed on the palate, in the absence of "fizz" that has been noted in previous bottles. This bottle seems to have a delightful energy about it, with great acidity and a mineral-laden finish that lasts for 30 or so seconds. This wine will still be drinking well 1-2 years from now, maybe even longer.
