Burgundy Dinner with Friends (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Still floral start with spice hints, stone fruit with candied lemon and lemon custard. This is so rich and perfectly balanced with 1er Cru density and a super bright finish. Better now vs when last tasted in 2014. At its peak now through the next few years. An excellent 1er Cru.

This had a reticent nose, with some soapy notes emerging after some time. Palate was powerful, with plentiful of oak. This made it seemed a tad "fat/clumsy" compared to the Sauzet & Carillon on the same flight...

Spicy and lean, a boon to our meal of shrimp burritos. Just enough oak in the mix, leaving room for the fruit to play out. Stony, focused, good acid, a touch hot.

Ripe stone fruit aromas with sweet baking spice and tropical fruit hints. Very good concentration. Lush and slightly extravagant for the vintage, but still showing some baby fat that I think will soften. Give this a little more time in the cellar.
