  • Deep, dark reddish-purple garnet in color with no signs of aging. Nose was initially reticent but eventually developed into a full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with overtones of floral & earthy/dusty notes, cocoa, coffee, herbal notes of mint & anise, tobacco, leather, minerals, some spice notes & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with herbs, minerals, cocoa, spices & a hint of vanilla/oak in the background. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but at 16 years old, it is approaching its peak of development although should hold onto its current peak for a few more years. Fill was mid-neck; cork was clean & intact.

  • This wine is drinking nicely right now, it has mellowed but still good depth.

  • Lovely wine. Decanted for 3 hours.
The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry. It tastes like black currant (cassis), mineral, petrol and mushroom. The body is full.

  • (From a magnum)

I liked it but had hope for more. Crowd liked it a lot as they had no expectations. Mellow cab fruit, still bright and youthful but missing some roundness and integration.

  • Wine was great to drink after taking some time to breathe. Hints of plumb and cherry and smooth finish beginning to end. Little sediment toward the end of the bottle and recommend a filter to use.
