Massive wine. Concentration, tannins, highly extracted. This is one of the "biggest" wines I have ever tasted. It's a punch right in the mouth. Well made, built to last. Despite the degree of extraction it does have reasonable balance. If you have this let it settle for 15-20yrs.

This bottle is still way to young. I would wait another five years before trying again. Tannins are beastly and there is little to no finish. Hard to score.

Mondavi Tasting (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had black currant and dark chocolate, baking spice and cherry, damp earth and vanilla, and a little oak at the end. The palate was rich and thick, with black currant and espresso, cake spice and forest floor, and a big oak finish.

I loved this wine , decanted for 3 hrs and served with lamb chops . Very dark and rustic wine with plum, dark cherry with a nice light oak finish
