fucking wonderful! Sooo floral, really sweet with honey, acetone notes. Very rich on the nose, and even smells thick and viscous. But the finish was a little short.

For and old bottle, this wine was quite fresh. Sparkly gold color. Botrytis nose with hints of tropical flowers. Sweet touch to tongue on first sip that expands to a a full bodied wine with lots of acidity to match the lychee nut and pineapple fruit. Finish while long was a touch bitter. I have another which I should drink soon.

From Garagiste special offer of a pristine cellar, this had about 1 inch of ullage and the cork all but disintegrated on opening. Not that much of a surprise, really. Incredibily tight on opening, it gobbled up air over the next several hours, resulting in a more balanced, flavorful quaff. Orange-yellow color, very much like a sweet Sauternes. Despite the color, it was quite (but not fully) dry. Honey and apricot in the nose with flavors of apricot, baked bread and brioche notes. Not spicy, it did have a hint of pumpkin pie spice in the finish. It would have be fun to try this 15 or 20 years ago since it seemed to lack depth and I would suppose that was the age talking. Still, a good wine and lots of fun. Amazing how a mostly dry white wine can age.

Bottle, fill and cork excellent Medium gold, gewurtztraminer exuberance has given way to honey, grass, fruit…. Lovely, balanced wine

Tastes like dessert wine. It has aged well, but it is not my style.
