  • Drank this on the same day as MrBuzz. His tasting notes were spot on. Alas, this was my last bottle.

  • From what I remember, this wine came about from numerous "conversations" between John Alban and Yves Gangloff when Yves lost his '03 Condrieu fruit(don't remember why)........pretty dark aged amber in color....soft nose of apricot, bees wax, buttered rum spice. Still quite large here...16%alc! Rich ripe fruit...baked apple, apricot, grilled pineapple/peaches....signs of age, yet very much alive with big dose of orange/grapefruit citrus acidity! Soft and creamy...waxy, full bodied mouthfeel....big spice kick! Super tasty flavors of that buttered rum spice, dried apple/apricot, exotic white honey, peach marmalade, salted caramel minerality, florals. Little in-your-face on the finish with an alcohol and spice jolt...not in a bad way! A super monster sipper here....aging quite well. This Conversation should continue......

  • Quick TN. Color is gold. Definitely a sign of aging as compared to past bottles. The wine had a slightly oxidative nose with honey and beeswax. On the palate, the texture was almost syrupy, showing interesting weight for a white wine. Flavors of almond, honey and beeswax predominated with a hint of white pepper. Very cool aged viognier and probably the best I've had from California. It seemed very condrieu-like (duh!). I am not sure how this will age from here but it is a very cool wine now. I wish I had more than one bottle left to track it.

  • terrific bottle on wine. Really showing its stuff. Great mouth feel, mice honey, pepper, aromatics. One of the most enjoyable viogniers I've ever had.

  • Nice viognier, not oily and heavy like too many CA versions. Has the aromatics, tropical fruits, and viscosity of a fine Viognier (or Condrieu, should I say?), but with just the right tinge of acidity and zing to it. Shame I only bought two bottles. Nice summer wine.
