JadotFest (Harwood Arms, Fulham, London): (From magnum) This too started edgy, but plusher than the Guettes, and a more mulberry and plum fruit profile. Fattened up in the glass and ended up quite delicious.
JadotFest 2013 (Harwood Arms, London): Vey open and sweet fruited and inviting on the nose. Silky. Sweet and lacy. Seems more open at the edges but tighter in the middle than the others. Floral. Violet scented. A nice polish. Pretty but with depth and length. ****
Side by side with an 02 Arcadian Fiddlestix Pinot, over 3 nights. Burgundy red, starting to brick, beginning tawny rim. Bright, lifted, sappy red cherry nose, improving over time and eventually showing tertiaries of old wood, loamy soil, mushroom and sous bois notes, with the wonderfully complex ripened red fruit more in the background. At first the palate is simple, light bodied, noticably Beaune, straightforward, dry and savory, then revealing old European wood and forest notes, with Liptons black tea and a hint of lemon on the medium plus finish. This is much more olfactory oriented, with more "wineness" as compared to the primary fruit and palate potential of the Arcadian. Another 3 to 8 years max, but I'd say this is as good as it will get. Delicious. 91 pts.
