farro piccolo "risotto" w/roasted hakurei turnips, gold & chioggia beets, charred cauliflower & rutabaga, pecorino romano & toasted walnuts
Very pretty wine that should only get better with time. Lovely and complex aromas of raspberry jam, spice, crushed rock, iron ore and Oregon briar. Well balanced palate with bright acidity and flavors of raspberries and cranberries. Gained additional weight when finished the next night. Brough a second bottle of this to Tilia with the guys on 12/4/13 and it was another great showing. I'd hold for 2-3 more years with a couple points of upside potential.
One hour decant and consumed over the next hour, my wife had her second glass the next day and it was still excellent. I got a lot of red fruit out of this: cherry, cranberry, and pomegranate leading the way. Very juicy. Mineral, stone, rose hips, and forest floor notes finish the picture. Tannins and texture are in a really good place right now. I would not save this past ten years; 5-7 is my fave OPN window.
