  • Decanted about 1-2 hours before drinking. Cork was a bit crumbly but provided a tight enough seal. Very clear in the main part with a chunky sediment held back from the decanter. Strongly brown at the rim, brick red in the middle. Quite herbal on the nose, edge of eucalyptus, leather and earthy. Taste was again herby, lovely light mouthfeel, still some tannin on the back end but not drying, just nicely integrated and easy to drink. Very pleasurable and a real surprise, given that the vintage didn't promise too much. Another great example of the interest and fun that old Bdx can provide.
