Bottle was actually coravin end twice before (last August and November) while no signs of oxidation there was a sticky puncture and wine had no smell when the cork was pulled. After a few minutes there's a big wonderful expression of plum, spice, earth, minerals plate is quite dense in an elegant way, terrific persistence and depth of flavour with a really nice finish
just so good. Dense, chewy , dark, fresh , fantastic length... And that was straight from the bottle. The strong 09 espresso character is softening and secondary flavour is emerging ... Incredible lush black currant , chocolate, dark stalk, and meat. Will be even better in 2-5 yrs and the tight acid will support another 10+
Walk into your flower store with a bag of truffles and box of cherries you get an idea about how good this smells. Add the sweet, pure, fresh black raspberries, kirsch and licorice and you're caught up with the taste. Finish everything with sexy, opulent, finesse styled textures and you're good to go. For a Pomerol at this level of quality, from a legendary vintage, it's worth buying.

(Chateau Certan de May Pomerol) A Mouiex wine. A crimson hue, with a bluish rim. Beautifully crushed fruits on the nose. These follow through onto the palate, where they unfold to reveal a ripe and precise core of tannins which have quite a firm feel to them, along with vibrant and precise acidity. Lots of chewy substance here, but lots of pretty and well presented fruit character too. Impressively good.
