  Decanted 3 hrs. Dense blackish red, browning edges. Nice robes. Large bq w cedarwood, oak, sweet black cherry fruit, christmas spices, touch of white pepper, touch of stone dust. Full body w sanded tannins, excellent acidity, still plenty of black cherry fruit. Nicely balanced, very harmonious and integrated tastes, long balanced aftertaste. Fully mature, will easily last some more years. Very good!

  Very balanced super tuscan
  Hints def of The real stuff -Bordeaux
  But adds the italian style to it

  Seems to me like Grahams feeling about wood took large parts of Tuscany in a stronghold in the 90s and early 2000s. This wine is a prime example. There is, at nine years of age, still quite a lot of wood here ... But since this is Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah, I think the wood has it's place here. The oak contributes with pipe tobacco, some oriental spice and maybe even a tad of milky chocolate. I don't know if the elephant cage/cat pee touch is oak or the grapes, but it's there and give a certain nuance to the fruit which is still going very strong. A mix of cassis, plum and tuscan cherries are touched by Sage and Rosemary. Acidity is Italian and magnificent, and yes, there is a touch of the typical Tuscany gravel road and a touch of Coke to it. With a chunk of Parmigiano, this is really good. Bordeaux made in Tuscany - with some extra syrah power. I think this is in a nice drinking window now, but it won't go over the hill in the next couple of years either. Given my growing hostility to oak, I'm surprised I liked this so much. 91-92.
