(Gorman Winery The Pixie Syrah Red Mountain) Dark in color. Compelling aromas of violets, mineral, spice, and dark fruit. A dense, textured, rich, fruit-filled wine with lingering chocolate and mineral flavors. 100% Syrah. Ciel du Cheval and Kiona-End of the Road Ranch vineyards. Aged in French oak (90% new). 240 cases produced.

(Gorman Winery The Pixie Syrah Red Mountain) Abundant red fruit, licorice, and earth accented by oak. A big, rich, chewy, opulent wine with a big lick of tannins. 100% Syrah. Aged 20 months in French oak (90% new). 225 cases produced.

Good but not great juice, not so good QPR. Maybe just past its prime. Prefer some of K Vintners or Owen Roe's offerings.

This has elegance to go with its power, and the finish doesn't quit. Red cherry, black cherry, licorice and black olive flavors that sail smoothly through a very long, expressive finish.

This wine was in a weird place based upon others reviews and my own experience 2 years ago. It was fruit forward, somewhat confectionary. Hot, disjointed. Not flawed, just not good. Outshown by the others we had last night.

opened 3 hours prior to drinking. pours very dark in the glass. nose of cocoa, the alcohol, then blackberries. On the palate, blackberries continuing to an extended finish. the alcohol keeps this from being a great wine.
