Clear deep ruby. Clean light dark fruit notes. Dry, high acid and tannins, and full body. Dark fruits like cherry and plum. Medium plus length. Very good wine that could last in cellar a few more years.
Dark purple-garnet in appearance with a nose of grape Hawaiian Punch, some spicy plums, and ripe blackberries; very attractive on the nose for sure. On the palate, getting mostly peppered plums, anise, and a spicy cedar blackfruits. Nice long finish and still has a few more years to it. I found this on the clearance bin out of all places, maybe cos the label's all dirty and the outer part of the bottle not looking clean. But all I care about is what's inside the bottle, and I definitely got my money's worth.
Last of our 04 Hewitts, and this one did not disappoint. Still hints of dark berries on the nose and first taste. Roasted vanilla and toasted oak still create weight on the palate. Very nice mouth feel and finish. Do not decant and pour gently. Begins to fade in second glass. Drink now through the next year or so.
