Verdicchio Tasting , Episode #936, 10/20/2010, (See more on Wine Library TV...)

(Fontezoppa Verdicchio) #2; COLOR-medium golden; NOSE-more minerality and earthy; a little stinky sock; some fresh crushed rock; good fruit (pear); very vibrant; a little creaminess and almost a wood chip component which is surprising as this was aged in Stainless Steel; PALATE-pretty good; the minerality follows on the palate; grass and endive lettuce component on the mid-palate transition to the finish; like an apple salad with lettuce and walnuts; it feels like a meal to me; it's quite chewy for a white wine; these Verdicchio's are light to medium bodied wines that have such big flavor to come across very complex; the alcohol spikes a little bit; ID-89; GV-89+
