Still going strong, best after a hour or two to open up. Very dark color, with velvet tannin and red and black fruit. A little heat on the finish along with a mouth watering feel.

Dark purple wine with a somewhat muted nose and loads of dark fruit. The oak is present in a very balanced way that feels light in the mouth for so much fruit. The finish is the stand out though, as it sails along for over a minute. Very nice. Decant 2-3 hours.

Drank last night with jambalaya. Good match, and very popular with everyone at the table. Big and rich without being jammy. Just the right amount of oak to help integrate the dark berry and spice flavor profile. Also detected a hint of chocolate. Better than I remember from when I tasted at the winery a few years ago. Fruit from the great McKinley Springs vineyard in the hands of a terrific winemaker.

Decanted for an hour before serving with pulled pork. Beautiful nose. Big black fruit with coffee and dark chocolate notes on the finish. Smooth and tasty.
