Air quickly disperses what seems, to me, to be overly sweet black fruit, so that the structure becomes more apparent and a few red fruits show, too. Easy without being overly soft. There are hints of savory characteristics – meat, maybe, or soy? – which, combined with the fresh acidity, seem to suggest a nice future (sure, it's screwcapped, but there's not even the suggestion of reduction).

Mountains to Metro (Heritage Ballroom in the Governor Hotel): Soft aromas. It's light, with mild fruit and still some slightly oaky aromas coming through. Nice bigger red fruits on palate entry, and fairly juicy without much structure. But really nice purity of fruit flavors. Juicy again on the finish, with mild tannins. Surprisingly grippy notion is felt long after swallowing.

Drank well. Leave open 30-60 minutes before starting. Had nice spice, some flesh, medium body. Good sturdy pinot with some oak.

A visit off the beaten path in the Willamette Valley: De Ponte, 1789, Anam Cara, Crowley (Dundee Hills, Oregon): Nice spicey nose. Tasty flavors of black and blue pure clean fruit. Nice acidity. Interesting minerality. Good food wine. Very approachable and open/ready for business. Screw-capped. Excellent restaurant pour. Drink over short term. A really nice $23 (at winery) 08 Oregon Pinot.
