Beezer6 summed this one up well...decanted at the restaurant on NYE, and it probably could have used a couple of hours more air and fewer drinkers, at least from my point of view...if you still have, absolutely no rush to drink...really wonderful
Saturday Tasting Group (Knightsbridge Wine Shop (Northbrook, IL)): Big berry driven wine showing massive extraction and legendary finesse driven leather, graphite and cigar box. Behemoth of a nose. Lots of licorice with some enjoyable aromatic spicy heat. Big firm young tannins. Exotic, delicate and feminine overall. Flowers. Great length on the finish. Awesome wine. So much structure and backbone but tasting so damn good right now.
Valentine's Day rolls on after a terrific 90 Krug and 2007 Peay Chardonnay. With prime aged NY Strips that were divine.
Wine is firing on all cylinders right now. RIch cassis fruit, a little smoke, cocoa powder, blackberries and a little bit of tobacco on the back end. No hint of alcohol, wonderful texture and a pretty complete wine from front to back on the palate. If you have this wine, don't be afraid to open them up and start drinking. 93-94/100
