  • Annual Pilgrimage to Piedmont - 2021 Edition; 10/8/2021-10/10/2021 (Piemonte, Italy): One of those moments with wine when something so humble delivers something special. This lovely 21yr old moscato was something totally unique. The bubbles are gone, the colour was dark golden like a Sauternes and in a way had Sauternes aromatics, apricot and noble rot. Soft honey and really impressed to see it alive and beautiful. We actually opened 2020 Saracco along as a test bottle ( Papies 89) just to compare the difference 21 years make. Really a great experience and albeit the wine lacks depth and weight it makes up for with the. Great story that is. Objectively a 92 but part of those magic moments in wine.
