Garagiste

(Script and Seal) Mystery #2 Dear Friends, If you're in the mood to buy low, really low while the market is sputtering, this is your offer... An after shock like this was about as predictable as apple pie on the 4th of July, today's offer represents value for the people but it's components are like Lobel's prime sirloin. After the Mystery Wine insanity of a few weeks ago, the temptation to "unload" high-end wine was bound to spread to other wineries and it has (BTW, we're still recovering from the original Mystery Wine offer, both physically and mentally - not sure that one was worth it from a business standpoint - for $16+ I think we actually lost money after all the man-hours sorting allocations, manning the phones and invoicing - oh well, all of you support so many other wines that our co-op/low margin mentality must remains the central focus - I guess it will all even out in the end). Winery owners talk and the owner of the original Mystery Wine had a little chat with another high-profile owner and today's offer is the result - another insane deal on high-end wine from our state. This is getting a bit bizarre, but (while the economy is keeping the bears at bay, at least in a wine sales sense) you may be able to stock your cellar with cult-worthy wine for less than $20. I was going to run this for the same $16+ price as the first Mystery Wine but I just found out we're going to purchase it for even less. How's $9.99? I'm serious. Everyone needs to drum up capital right now and the best way to do so is to give the consumer a deal they (literally) can't refuse - no beating around the bush, no games. At a much higher price, this would eventually sell out but it would take many months or over a year. At $10, I've added an extra server this morning as it will be gone in a few hours. All I can tell you about Mystery Wine #2 is that it's the exact same wine as the "regular" label from a storied Walla Walla entity and the idea for today is to bring high-level imbibement to the masses (for one day at least). I can also tell you that the vineyard material comes form primary "A" level rows of Red Mountain, Horse Heaven Hills and the like - in other words, this is not from bulk wine but I can't tell you all the vineyards or someone out there will put the Rubik's Cube together and figure out what this is. The blend is Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc and maybe other varietals but I cannot reveal the percentages (again, a bit of vagary to keep the identity secret). The wine? It's from the already storied 2007 vintage and, well, I think you'll like it...a lot. Its sophisticated, feline, multi-faceted, focused and beautifully made wine with that extra something that sends it into another realm of possibilities. Just the fact that it's from 2007 should be enough. Other than that, I'm not supposed to say anything else. To have some fun with this wine and because we actually had a few days to get a label printed, it has an interesting name - "Script and Seal", an inspiration from medieval alchemists (unlike the first Mystery Wine that looks like a home-school project from Kinko's gone very wrong). When it rains it pours - you may as well hop on board and enjoy the crazy ride, but (judging by what happened with the last Mystery Wine offer) I wouldn't wait very long to hit the reply button. For $9.99, I think you'll be more than happy to have a case or 7 of this lying around when an unexpected party of 100 stops by... This parcel is directly from the winery cellar with perfect provenance - it will arrive in a week or two. To make things easier on the warehouse I'm asking that you order in multiples of 3 - 3, 6 or 12 (preferably 6 or 12 up to a maximum of 84 bottles/person). The easier it is to pack, the more likely we will be able to get some of this out before the end of the Spring season: 2007 Script and Seal (red wine) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA WA7988 "Garagiste (Niki)"
