  • Kleur: Medium goudgeel. Briljante balans, indrukwekkend lange afdronk. Algemeen / potentieel: Briljante Riesling… grote klasse…. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Smaak / Afdronk: 18 + Algemeen / potentieel: 8 = 94/100

  • Wunderbar gereifter, ausbalancierter, mineralisch geprägter Wein mit sehr langem, komplexen Abgang

  • 5/1/23 Thai and Riesling Study (Tum Nak Thai): Nose of herbs, fresh cut grass, white peaches, cut hay and honey. Still showing high acid, great balance and brightness. Mirabelle, unripe yellow peaches, cut herbs and grass, ever so slight RS and honeyed tertiary note that smooths the edges. Long finish, showing beautifully right now with great development of tertiary and perfect balance. 94-95

  • Beautiful blind flight of three GGs from 2009. All wines showed great aromatic typicity around white flowers, petrol, minerals, cut hay and energetic, fresh palate with complex, long finishes. All were wonderful. The Emrich Schönleber Halenberg (97pt) had the edge for me with extreme complexity and precision on the palate, light on its feet without being thin. The Knoll Loibenberg Smaragd (94pt) was a touch richer with more stone fruit but without being heavy, well judged. The Keller Kirchspiel (95pt) was in the middle of the road, balanced, fresh with a generous palate. The winner of the table were debated between Keller and Emrich.

  • The one with Sexy Tapas (Kolabo): Undeniably different from the previous wines and with a hint from the host that this was out of theme, we very quickly went to riesling.

My first Keller and definitely the best riesling I’ve had. Petroleum, grapefruit and lime zest on the bouquet with apricots, pineapples, mango and starfruit on the palate. Good weight with a line of minerality supporting the structure of the wine - this was perfect with Palamos prawns
