  • Slow ox 30 min. Attractive nose of black raspberrry, flowers and iron. The wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced with the ripe fruit of the vintage but no roasted qualities. This is pretty concentrated and youthful at age 14 and has many years of life left ahead.

  • Opened up after 30-45 minutes. Dark. Ripe darker fruit though red fruit comes out a bit on palate. More intense than the Chambolle villages that I have tasted, more muscular. But, there is a silkiness and textural elegance and balance that cannot be denied. I continue to be impressed by Roumier wines though my enthusiasm cannot help but be tempered by the eye watering prices.

2nd day after standing half full corked in a cool location. Seems more open and detailed. Red fruit comes through more. Expands more on the palate and maybe even a little more length on finish. It has more to give.

  • Beautiful showing today. Popped and poured in a Zalto Universal, the wine presents especially darkly in the glass, profile showing rich blackberry fruits and some iron ore. Air helped the wine greatly and I was pleased to see that there was no roasted or overripe prune/fig notes, but rather, hints of coffee and dark cocoa that made it especially interesting and masculine. Dense and rich, with balanced acidity, what a treat to taste this wine, which will certainly age well for many years.

  • At Chambard Alsace.
Strawberries , floral perfume, feminine with granular tannins . The ‘09 ripeness was evident
Evolved into more secondary flavors with more time

  • Great balance, style, perfectly mature at the time of consumption, but a bit linear and uninteresting for the value.
