The 2008 Jacques Prieur Beaune 1er Cru Grèves is medium ruby in colour with a nose of sour deep cherries and slightly green herbs to it. Pretty candied yet rustic at the same time with mild red currants. On the palate, an entry of sweet candied and dark currants and dark cherries. Pretty rustic in style with a mid palate of rising alcohol. Medium (-) finish in a candied style. Overall a little bold in structure and a little bit over-the-place. Pretty 'alright'.

Jacques Prieur Tasting and Cellar Visit (Meursault): Tasting at Domaine. Good balance of red and black fruit. More fruit than spice. Not quite as fresh or energetic as I would have hoped.
