  • Nice burgundy with essence of terroir. Paired well with dinner.

  • Popped and poured. Cork wet all the way and some mold. Color bricking garnet. Nose mostly secondary but still some cheer fruit. On palate, this is soft, smooth and savory. Really perfect tonight with grilled chicken and in my opinion it is firing on all cylinders...would not hold this any longer. Enjoy now

  • This is one damn sexy Savigny. There are hints of earth and chocolate but it is the plush, spicy red fruits that dominate at this stage. There is no doubt a lot of good oak has been thrown at the wine but the dense fruit has soaked up every last bit. The silky texture comes to a fine grained, long savoury finish. Sure to further improve with age but so balanced and together right now.

  • 1999 Domaine Leroy Savigny les Beaune Narbantons - A wonderful bottle of wine. Drinking great right now. The first taste reveals the Leroy signature along with the perfume typical of her wine (a touch of surmature Pinot fruit in the nose). Intense, deep-coloured wine with powerful tastes of ripe cherry and spice. Sweet, potent and gorgeous with tannins to support cellaring. Despite its size and youth, great with food. 110 cases only in this vintage. A pity - it is so good. An unmitigated triumph for a village wine. 93 pts.
