The wine is still drinking well - we are getting a nice mature classic sangiovese - the fruit is sour cherries and cranberries also clearly black currants - more pronounced this time - you are also getting tobacco and leather - tannins and acidity are both medium and well integrated - the wine is great and well made we will stay on large 93.

We had the wine together with 2001 in a tasing - both wine are great - but 2001 are the clear winner. 2005 is not giving a lot a way on the nose - but what you get is still a very classic Sangiovese. We are getting a lot of sour chearries and cranberries - we are also gettin a clear hint of black currant. Tannins and acidity are still medium a good balance - but here the wine is clearly loosing to 2001. We gave 94 last time where it was a magnum - this time we are back to 93 - it is a great well made wine.

Medium red color. Aromas of dark cherry, minerals, tobacco and dried flowers. Ripe, well-balanced,medium-bodied fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Nicely complex and supple on the palate. This delicious wine is firmly in its peak drinking period and was a great match with my wife’s killer veal chop.

Even in a - only decent - vintage, this is a treat. Mature with cherries and a bit of decay on the nose. In the mouth at first an accidic spark playing on the tongue. Tannins very toned down. Fresh and elegant, almost weightless. A super nice brunello. Probably at it’s best around now - I wouldn’t wait much longer.
