  • Another year since my last bottle and this must be no 7 or 8 in fairly regular intervals since release. Consistent showing with good depth and concentration of dark fruit, good freshness not overripe like some 09 Bdx can be. The 09 Batailley (opened a day later) now feels a bit more polished and also with a touch more depth but this was superb value at $27 on release and a great 09 in the low to mid price range

Let's see what will happen to #3 from this great Grand Cru Classé de Graves wine( do you know, that this classification was established in 1953 and includes 13 red wines and 9 white wines from 16 Chateau?)
    An hour in the decanter

    Wow, my style!
Aromas - black currant, blueberry, smoke, earth, red cherry, cedar.
But the action is in the taste.
Black currant and blueberries again. Herbs, olives, mocca, coffee. What a crazy mix, but with perfect, juicy balance.
    Spice is here too.
    Perfect acidity and ripe tannins.
Sophisticated and highly drinkable red juice.
    2009 vintage?
Of course you know it was one of the best in this century.

  • Lovely berry with a bit of earthiness in the nose. Similar flavors, lots of savory flavors, great palate coverage, and very nice finish.
