  • 2 hours in the decanter and it wasn't enough, hence this review is based on the 3rd glass. Powerful smell, powerful taste! Aromas of blackberry, black currant, black chocolate, mocca. All very intense! Taste? Very similar to the smell! Not too many flavors, but with very high concentration. High structure. High acidity, despite 2 hours in the decanter. Tannins are very good, not grippy and blended into the wine. Very long finish with red cherry, red currant, and spice. 5 more years and it will be perfect. Me said so 😁

  • Surprisingly this wine shows a lot of trace of evolution. I mean a grand cru from Bordeaux should still taste young at that stage.
Nice red grenat and red brick color
Flavorful nose on plum, jam, strawberries, little wood and smoked
Medium acidity, tannins balanced and softened, little sweetness
    Good volume and decent length
I won’t bet at drinking it In 10 years
Let me think that 2009 is a bit overrated vintage

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of deep ruby colour, with garnet rim and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry and cassis, dried fruit of prune, oak notes of toast, kernel notes of milk chocolate, mineral notes of earth, maturity notes of savoury. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium (+) tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium (+) alcohol and full body, with medium (+) intensity flavours of black fruit of blackberry and dark plum, oak notes of toast, kernel notes of coffee, sweet spice of clove. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Good quality St-Estephe with a reasonably intense nose showing decent complexity, the wine has plenty of black fruit, oaky toast with chocolate and earthy aromas, plus some savoury development. On the palate it has good structure, with robust silky tannin, good concentrated in flavours, and a fair length on the finish. It is ready to drink now but can benefit from further ageing of another 3-5 years.

  • Earthy, slightly perfumed nose of dark fruit, coffee beans, cigar box, violet, potting soil and a suggestion of caramel at the back end, well-balanced palate of black plum, prune and black currant, interwoven gently with dark chocolate, cedar, crushed stone and a dash of black pepper, sinewy tannins, lengthy finish. Fantastic.
