Dark yellow gold. Mineral saline nose, somewhat subdued. Palate was much more lively, with good heft and balance. Sweetness is now a toasted brioche kind of complexity, with a lingering acidic tinged final. Vibrant.

Opened 1 hour prior and followed over 1 hour. Flint, lime and a whiff of kerosene on the nose. Brisk attack developing quickly into rather assertive lime sherbet and mineral infused mid palate. There is a prickliness to the final and the kerosene notes intrude a bit too much for my liking. Residual sugar is noticeable but generally well balanced although the wine as a whole is a bit angular.
This is certainly rich and complex, but for me doesn't have the polish and balance that I like.

Alsace - Bott Geyl Masterclass (Les Amis - Shaw Centre): Sweetness level: [2/9] 1st vintage. Wow, what a serious wine, the nose is very tight and cold that only display hint of coldness generated by the steely, gun powder aromas with spices. The palate offer better structured, focus and depth. Ripe citrus, lemon with honey like sweetness move on to the long, creamy finish that lingered with lemon and mineral aftertaste. Delicious and good!
