This wine is holding up very well. Lots of red and dark fruits, with a nice balance of acid. The body kept building for over an hour, absolutely delicious from pop to last pour (about an hour). This is a great cellar defender, need some more.
Pop and pour ... Brick red, with a big barnyard funk nose, that's reflected on the palate. Tart, light and very dry, with an almost blue cheese note on the medium-long finish. (NOTE: I say this as someone who really likes roquefort.) A hint of green notes, a little tang, a dose of granite and a big earthy backend. Makes for a very interesting flavor profile. Probably not gonna improve much -- tannins were pretty dusty -- but in a good place right now and a stupendous Berserker Day value.
