Opened a few hours before drinking. Took a bit of swirling in the glass to clear the oak, then opened up. Not that notable, but well balanced and enjoyable at this stage.

Last bottle of four that we have consumed over the past 7 years (6-13 years past vintage). Paired with seared pork loin off the grill. Overall consistent with previous notes only developing a more pronounced red fruit core and some deeper savory notes on the finish. Still very good concentration but with round edges. The finish lasts a good 30-45 seconds. Like a lot of 2009s at this price point, it's likely entering a peak window over the next few years but should still be enjoyable past 2026. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 94.

A juicy, fruit-forward wine typical of the 2009s. Decanted for about two hours. Ready to go, but no hurry. Really delicious. This estate has profited from being a part of the Pichon Baron stable. Hard to imagine better QPR.
