  • A little muted on opening (10C, cork was tight but some seepage at bottom so perhaps some minor storage problems).
Notes of exotic fruit: apricot, pineapple, a hint of oak. Quite fat. Going to give it some air.
Better with an hour of air and at a higher temperature (14C) but may just be due to higher perception of acidity which is remarkably more noticeable now. Oak seems muted. This seems a lot younger now.
This is not quite right though. Maybe too young?
Wow. This is much better 24 hours later and at an elevated temperature (15C). Much more Meursault character now: buttery, oaky, a little smoke, lemon, nutty, vanilla; quite complex. I this wine has changed how I view white Burgundy: whereas on opening I would have guessed it was too advanced with overt fruit and ripeness and fatness. Now its much more mineral and restrained and youthful, austere even. It is amazing what time and temperature can do.

  • This remains tight aromatically but shows good tension, grip and extract on the palate. Needs time.
