Just a wonderful wine...again. Pretty strawberry with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Thickens and becomes a bit sweeter over time. Tasted next to a 2011 Williams Selyem Pinot and the Oregon/California contrast was striking. That WS was much more fruit (cherry)-forward while this was much more subtle and complex. Both great wines and a fun way to explore the differences.
Fabulous Pinot. Subdued nose at the start, but opened up near the end. Decanted for about 45 min. Very smooth and bigger fruit than I expected. Lot's of delicate flavors from start to finish. Well done. Wish I had more.
Beautiful. 45 minute decant to burn off some of the alcoholic heat, consumed over an hour. This is light and pretty on the approach, with a nice but rather uncomplicated nose of red berry. Lots of red berry on the palate, with some nice spiciness, including a touch of cinnamon. The long, complex finish is what keeps you coming back for more. By the last sip a lovely, strawberry sweetness had emerged--not over the top but definitely more pronounced than at first taste. This is an elegant, complex and lingering wine.
