In a decanter for two hours, had a big nose of tobacco and leather, really softened up after 3= hours. Fruit was underlying the tobacco and leather, i got some berry and currants with just a hint of eucalyptus, or maybe very mild green pepper, not sure either way it was not overwhelming. Tannins are completely subsided, paired well with NY strip I see no need to hold longer but decant is needed.

Elegant wine with lots of deep, concentrated dark fruits. Black currants, black raspberries, blueberries, licorice, and hints of floral, spice, and earthiness. Medium to full bodied and a long finish.

Really enjoyable. Big and juicy, but well balanced. Good acidity. This is a solid well built wine that has aged beautifully. Ten years on, it has shed the initial primary fruit. Still plenty of fruit and spice but there is some secondary development with the leather and herbs. Nice lingering finish. Favia is always reliable with well made wines.
