This seems much younger than six years old and seems to have the stuffing for very long aging. This was absolutely bursting with fruit: green apples, tangerines, lime, white raspberry and mint. Beneath it all is a seam of minerality on the finish and sharp acidity throughout. I could see this being absolutely spectacular as it develops more mature flavors. Paired very well with the saltiness of Easter ham.
Donnhoff is a wine producer based in the Nahe region of Germany. The Donnhoff family has been producing wine since 1750 and is known for their fanatical commitment to quality. I found this Riesling to be creamy with flavors of pear and melon with some lime. It was sweet, a little sweeter than I prefer but it was backed up with good acidity. Very good. RP 97, WS 92
Sweet and complex. Developes a nice minerality with time in the glass. Best on day 4, when the forward fruitiness has given more room for that lovely refreshing minerality and aromatics have become wonderfully complex.
round, creamy, and elegant with great acidity. a soft green apple on the palate. tangy pine needle on nose. i suspect this will get much better, the flavors are somewhat melded at this point but it's delicious juice. 92+
What finesse! Beguiling nose, very subtle, airy, complex, with citrus (lemon mainly) just sticking out a little of a fine mix. The palate follows on the same line, just sweet, with deceptive lightness, which is all elegance and poise. Delicious.
Edit: retasted a glass in the evening. Confirming all the above I would add that on the palate the flavors were a fine mix of mandarin, lemon and tropical fruit (papaya, I would say).
