Tuesday Night Double Blind <$40 (Alpharetta, GA): Very pale crimson core with pale rim; soft red fruit, delicate, slight green note, cranberry; more intense fruit on the palate, firm acid, very zingy, leaner tart red fruit, grippy finish; was in NSG but missed vintage.

Tasted blind and thought much older. Thin, lean. Started out well enough but after an hour began to fade. Clean, elegant, fruit contrasted with spice, earth well enough but in the end not much depth and while I wouldn't say it completely fell apart by hour 2.5, I wouldn't contest too much with someone who thought so. It's just so light! Tasted so much older than date on label, but not in a positive way. Retail 60, sail for 35, can't recommend for either price. Hate to say but have had $14 burgs that have delivered more depth and character. Drink in first hour or 2 if you're curious, but can't say I find it very representative of faiveley or nuits -saint-georges. For this price or anything near it, more is required to justify.

Popped and poured. Classic Burgundy aromas. Better than I recall. Pleasant surprise.

Quite flat. Approachable, but not much joy on either end. Better on the second day with a little more mid-palate acidic lift through the short finish.
