I had this wine 2 days ago at a dinner where several bottles (of this wine and others) were opened. I had not the vintage of this wine before and 2007 is not known as a great year, so I approached it with limited expectations. I was positively surprised. Classic Bordeaux nose of gooseberries, wood and earth, with clear deep red color. Medium in its body, leathery and structured in its approached, it gave way to pleasurable fruits in the initial, medium and final stages, finishing with a pleasurable medium finish. It exceeded my expectations as a previous encounter I had with this wine (very long time ago) was not pleasant (I was still relatively inexperienced with wine, and perhaps the bottle I tried was young and the wine totally closed and as such disappointing. Not the case with this wine, proving the point that lesser vintages can be very useful as they may be early maturing, and thus very approachable and drinkable. Although perfectly drinkable now, it may have a few years left 2-5 may be? I gave this wine a score of 89, but could be 90.
A consommer rapidement.
